On the sidelines of the PNG Mining & Petroleum Investment Conference in Sydney, ExxonMobil PNG has signed an agreement with PNG Power to conduct a study to provide electricity from the PNG LNG Hides Gas facility into Hela Province.
ExxonMobil PNG Managing Director, Andrew Barry, and PPL Acting Managing Director, Carolyn Blacklock, signed the agreement today (01 December, 2018), signaling the start of efforts to provide up to Five megawatts of power from gas for electricity for the home province of the PNG LNG Project.
According to both parties, these efforts are long overdue, and are aimed at improving the lives of communities in the PNG LNG Project area.
